INHALE DEEP is a figure between movements. Her skirt is still flowing but her body is now stationary. The title is a reference to the last breath taken before the release of motion.

INHALE DEEP

When the curtains rise,
With expectant eyes

The music to start on cue.
In the stage light dawn,
Tendons tightly drawn

Her muscles like a corkscrew.

Focused out and in,
About to begin,

She is calm before the storm.
Looking in and out,
Having no self-doubt

Poise graces her spine and form.

Her practice complete,
The world at her feet

Bows on strings to weep and sing.
Become kinetic,
Movement poetic,

She will inhale deep and spring!
