For muttering poets to birth a rhyme?
Lines of libretto still to verse
Wet daggers and kisses yet to rehearse.
Let me waver in the wings,
Shackled in satin and soft lacy things,
Neatly pinned and nailed in place.
My fortune, my future to fear or face.
And then you sing, then you sing
Arias of what your tomorrows bring.
Lift me with your gilded tones.
My watery voice adrip with unknowns.
You step through with perfect ease,
Parting stage curtains of velvet red seas.
Nessun Dorma no one sleeps,
The opera to come, soars, swells, and sweeps.
